A mysterious media group headed by Carey Lee Cramer, this group made an ad which pretty much copied the infamous Daisy ad in 1964. A spokesman for this group refused to disclose who was paying for this ad, this time being an ad which blasted the Clinton Administration, and thus Al Gore, for supposedly giving secrets to China. Aretino Industries described itself as a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization recently created by 22 "common friends" from across the country. The initial ad buy is $60,000 but the group plans to spend $500,000 between now and Election Day. The ad aired in Ohio, Michigan, California, Florida, Pennsylvania and Missouri. (1)

Did what the ad say really happen?

  • The allegations that China received nuclear secrets from the United States in exchange for contributions to the 1996 elections are unproven. (1)

Carey Lee Cramer convicted

  • Carey Lee Cramer was sentenced to six years in prison in June of 2006, after a jury convicted him of sexually molesting two young girls. (2)
